What you'll learn from this episode:

  • The various types of dietary sugar, the difference between dietary sugar and blood glucose, and why there is no requirement for dietary sugar, even though glucose is the energy of life.

  • Eat the fruit; don’t drink the juice—why fiber makes all the difference in the way your body uses fructose.

  • The three types of fat in the body, which is the most dangerous, and why it’s possible to appear thin, but still have dangerous levels of fat and poor metabolic health.

  • All calories are not created equal—the five reasons Dr. Lustig hates the word "calorie," and how little information calorie content provides for understanding the impact a particular food has at the cellular level.

  • The difference in toxicity of regular Coke versus Diet Coke, and why the latter comes with gut health risks.

  • And so much more!
